The updated Siri is designed to be more conversational and contextually aware, capable of understanding personal context and broad world knowledge. As Business Insider reported, it can find previously sent addresses or photos from specific locations "using your personal context".
Siri AI is deeply integrated across Apple's ecosystem, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, offering enhanced capabilities for users. TechPowerUp noted that it can search across messages, emails, and photos, and perform actions across various apps.
The new Siri AI is powered by Apple Intelligence, and its underlying architecture is a result of a partnership with Google, utilizing Google's Gemini AI model. Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering, stated, "We're excited to introduce Siri AI, a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day".
Key features include a dedicated Siri app, expanded Visual Intelligence, and integrated writing tools. According to Business Wire, these features are available for developer testing now and will be released as a beta to users later this year, initially in English.
