CBS News reported on Saturday, September 27, 2025, that at least four people have died after severe monsoon storms caused devastating flooding in Arizona. Three of the fatalities occurred in Globe, a historic mining community in Gila County, where some residents were forced onto their rooftops to escape the rapidly rising water. Gila County Emergency Manager Carl Melford stated that two of the deceased were discovered in a vehicle, while a third was found in the floodwaters. A fourth person was found deceased in suburban Phoenix near a vehicle that had been caught in floodwaters.
