Nintendo Life reported on September 28, 2025, that a modern revival of the classic beat 'em up series, titled Double Dragon Revive, will launch for the Nintendo Switch and other platforms on October 23, 2025. Publisher Arc System Works confirmed the release date while presenting a new trailer for the game at the Tokyo Game Show. The project is described as a reimagining of the original games, tailored for modern playstyles by leveraging the studio's experience in developing fighting games.
The game was first announced in 2024, with initial reveals covering PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions. The confirmation of a Switch version was a key update, as it was missing from the original announcement. The new title will feature 3D graphics, online and offline co-op modes, and a pre-order bonus game called "Double Dragon Dodgeball". Development producer Tatsunori Ishikawa stated the team is putting its full effort into the release. The game is scheduled to be available in both physical and digital formats.
