uploadvr reported on October 2, 2025, that the Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses have sold out in nearly every retail store that carried the product. This widespread stock depletion occurred just two days after the device's launch, leaving many prospective early adopters unable to purchase the $799 glasses. According to reports, appointments for in-store fittings and demos were booked out through November or even December in some locations, highlighting the difficulty consumers faced in acquiring the new technology.
In response to the shortage, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth confirmed that restocks are "coming," though a specific date was not provided. To address the high demand and limited initial availability, Meta also announced it will double the number of stores offering the glasses. The initial launch was restricted to select physical stores in the US, including Best Buy and LensCrafters, with plans to expand to several European countries and Canada in early 2026.
