AUSTIN, TX — Tesla, Inc. made history this week with the debut of the world's first pickup truck to autonomously drive itself from the factory floor directly to a service center for repairs.
According to sources within the company, the stainless steel Cybertruck is the first vehicle of its kind engineered to make a direct bee-line from the Gigafactory assembly line to the nearest service bay.
"This is a paradigm shift in proactive vehicle maintenance," said Brexleigh Innova, Tesla's Director of Predictive Service Logistics. "No one else has created a vehicle so self-aware that it can roll off the line and immediately seek service. It's a huge step forward. The truck’s onboard sensors automatically detect its own panel gaps and potential corrosion spots and immediately route it for remediation. It's peak efficiency."
Consumers say they are excited to test the truck's capabilities.
"It's always been a pain to get my new Tesla home, notice a fit and finish issue, and then have to book a service appointment myself," said Chad Brogan, a longtime Tesla enthusiast. "This thing will save me so much time by just going straight from the production line to get fixed all by itself. I can't wait."
At publishing time, Tesla had released an over-the-air update for the truck which saved even more time by having it drive directly to the nearest vinyl wrap shop instead.
